ABC's of Smoking
- Always smoke in an area cleared of vegetation
- Be sure your match is out
- Crush your smoke when finished
- Don’t leave your butt in the wildlands take it home with you…(your cigarette butt, that is)
Spark arresters
It is that time of year when we head to the “hills” to enjoy nature and get away from the heat and city life.
- Check to make sure your ATV has a working spark arrester
- Check your chainsaw for a working spark arrester
- Check your generator to make sure it has a working spark arrester and make sure your generator is in an area cleared of flammable material when you operate it
Charcoal Briquette Safety
- When you are finished using briquettes DUNK ‘em! Don’t sprinkle them
- Soak coals with lots of water…it is surprising how long briquettes can hold heat (can be days)
- Stir coals and soak them again
- Only discard them when the briquettes are cold
